Amyx James grew up in the farm and ranch industry. Since he was 12 years old, he has been farming the land in and around Waurika, OK. After graduating Waurika High School, he went to pursue a degree in Agriculture. He attended NEO A&M College and received an Associate’s degree in Animal Science. He then went on to Oklahoma State University to complete a Bachelor’s degree in Animal Science Production.​

In 2004, Amyx moved to Texas to pursue new career opportunities and decided to get in the Real Estate industry. While attending Champions School of Real Estate, he received a Salesperson license in Real Estate and also a Texas Professional Inspectors license. In 2017, Amyx moved his family back to Oklahoma to work the family ranch with his father. While working the ranch on a daily basis, he is continuing his real estate career as a licensed Oklahoma sales associate. Outside of farming, ranching, and selling real estate, you will find Amyx spending time with his wife and their two beautiful daughters.​
